She got her teaching credential from CSU Northridge and has been the science teacher at Century, an independent study high school in the Conejo Unified School District, fortwoyears.
Greenfield has a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and received his teaching credential in 2010 at Notre Dame de Namur University inBelmont.
The program pairs association fellows with an online mentor with experience in teaching the same specialty. They also have access to online teaching resources including Web based seminars and are invited to the association's conference in Indianapolis inMarch.
Among 39 California teachers picked for the National Science Teachers Association New Science Teacher Academy are Donna Misthos of Century Academy in Thousand Oaks, and from the Oxnard area, Kate Dickinson of Rio del Valle Middle School and Matt Greenfield of Vista Real Charter HighSchool.
